ARMSTRONG COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT

PO Box 523, Claude, TX  79019 / 806-553-2862 / armstrongfire@co.armstrong.tx.us

Effective January 1, 2025, the Armstrong County Fire Department (ACFD) was officially established to centralize and enhance fire protection services within the county. Under the direction of the County, ACFD assumed management of both the Claude and Washburn Volunteer Fire Departments (VFDs), aligning them under a unified county fire service. Commissioner Joe Neely has been appointed as the Fire Director for ACFD, overseeing operations and strategic direction for the department. Each station — Claude and Washburn — continues to operate with its own designated Fire Chief to maintain leadership and operational efficiency at the local level.  Like most Texas Volunteer Fire Departments, Armstrong County Fire Department relies on donations to operate. Your donations are greatly appreciated!
