Texas Counties Deliver – learn how county government serves you
Public Information Request

Texas Government Code, Chapter 552, gives you the right to access government records; and an officer for public information and the officer's agent may not ask why you want them. All government information is presumed to be available to the public. Certain exceptions may apply to the disclosure of the information.

Procedures to Obtain Information

1. You may submit a request by mail, fax, e-mail or in person. The request need not be addressed to any particular person.

2. Include enough description and detail about the information requested to enable Armstrong County to accurately identify and locate the information requested.

3. Cooperate with the Armstrong County’s reasonable efforts to clarify the type or amount of information requested.

CHARGES

Armstrong County charges per page for 8 ½ x 11 size copies, please contact the office you are requesting information for charges. Charges for non-standard copies will be at a higher cost depending on size and format.

For labor cost charges incurred in processing a request for public information, contact the office you are requesting information from for labor charge amount. The labor charge includes the actual time to locate, compile, manipulate data, and reproduce the requested information.  The Armstrong County Office will give you an estimate of charges before the work is undertaken.
